A Cameroonian-born American, Serge-Alain Wandji, serves as the Co-founder, President, and CEO of DiaspoCare. This innovative healthcare delivery and digital payment platform operates across the USA, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Nigeria, streamlining access to medical services.
In addition to his role at DiaspoCare, Serge-Alain is the Co-founder and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at UzoBi; a health technology firm dedicated to integrating ethically guided, values-based decision-making into patient care, particularly concerning advance directives.
His strategic acumen extends to his position as Senior Director of Business Development at Ginkgo Bioworks; A Boston-based biotech powerhouse, Serge-Alain’s expertise contributes to the pioneering work of programming biological cells, which has far-reaching applications in pharmaceuticals, vaccines, agriculture, and more.
Demonstrating a commitment to sustainable development, Serge-Alain chairs the board of Agricycle Global. A social enterprise that empowers East African women by marketing locally-produced foods, utilizing solar-powered dehydrators for global distribution.
Serge-Alain has applied his strategic insight as Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, Innovation, and Digital Health at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. His career also includes tenures at Fortune 100 companies like Cargill and Colgate Palmolive.
Serge-Alain’s academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Neurophysiology and a Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from Laval University. A Master’s Degree in Management of Technology from the University of Pennsylvania and post-doctoral training in Biomedical Research at Cornell University.
Hannah Johnson serves as a Program Manager, Global Policy at the George W. Bush Institute. In this role, she focuses on U.S. global health engagement and coordinates the Bush Institute’s involvement in the Go Further partnership. Go Further is an innovative partnership between the Bush Institute, PEPFAR, and UNAIDS that invests in sub-Saharan African countries to integrate and scale up cervical cancer screening and treatment services within existing platforms for HIV treatment and women’s health.
Prior to joining the global health team at the Bush Institute, Johnson was a Development Associate at the George W. Bush Presidential Center where she assisted in the management of the Center’s robust grants portfolio and engagement with corporate and foundation constituencies. Before her time at the Bush Center, she worked for Polaris Project, an organization focused on data-driven, long-term solutions to combat human trafficking.
Johnson earned a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Northwestern University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs with a focus in Africa, global public health, and conflict resolution from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE is the President of the Grow, Unite, Build, Africa (GUBA) Enterprise. GUBA Enterprise is the Diaspora Network Manager par excellence and continues to grow into an impactful social venture network.
She is a visionary, humanitarian and leader. As a dedicated mother of four, she spends her time between the UK and Ghana, effecting change within the community. The GUBA Awards has been recognised as a community building organisation with substantial influence. Her work to improve UK African relations earned her an MBE in Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth ll's 2016 Birthday Honours.
Aside her work with her organization and external institutions, Lady Dentaa is a also a qualified Pediatric Nurse. Graduating with a degree from the Buckinghamshire University, she went on to practice Pediatric Nursing at the Royal Free London NHS Trust.
Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE is a multi-hyphenate with years of experience in the acquisition of funding, deal brokering, lobbying and facilitating diaspora development. She is the current Liaison Executive Officer for the Greenwich-Terna Meridian Link, working to secure trading and business networks between both cities. The focus for Lady Dentaa has always been to encourage an exchange of business, skills, culture and support within the African Diaspora and the African continent. She is a Board Member for the Ghana Tourism Authority and the International Diaspora Relations Manager for the Asante Kotoko sports club.
Dr. Ernest T Hawk is the current vice president and head of the division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he holds the T. Boone Pickens Distinguished Chair for Early Prevention of Cancer, and serves as a professor in the department of Clinical Cancer Prevention.
Dr. Hawk’s background includes research, education, training, and practice in clinical medicine, epidemiology, cancer prevention, clinical trials, disparities and drug development at several different institutions. Before coming to MD Anderson, he worked at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for 12 years in cancer chemopreventive drug identification, preclinical testing, and clinical development, participating in the design, conduct, and monitoring of 20+ phase I-III trials of preventive agents including calcium, aspirin, celecoxib, eflornithine, oltipraz, aerosolized budesonide, and various drug combinations.
At MD Anderson, Dr. Hawk leads the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences, which includes 65 faculty members and 350+ employees. During his 15 years in leadership at MD Anderson, among other achievements, he has advanced his Division’s prevention and population sciences research across five departments (i.e., epidemiology, behavioral sciences, clinical cancer prevention, health services research, and health disparities research), which have been a $20-25M annual peer-reviewed research enterprise.
Dr. Hawk has also served as an invited external advisor re: cancer prevention and control, population sciences, and community outreach and engagement (COE) to 16 NCI-designated cancer centers; and as an internal advisor to several institutional SPOREs and two disparities-focused centers lending his expertise and experiences in cancer prevention research and cancer control implementation.
Dr. Tagbo Azubike is the founder and lead partner of MediConcierge, a healthcare management consulting and medical travel facilitation firm. With extensive international insights, he serves as an International Healthcare Management Consultant to Afreximbank, where he leads initiatives to establish the African Medical Centres of Excellence across Africa. Dr. Azubike's notable accomplishments include membership in the Nigerian Presidential Health Sector Reforms committee, collaboration with Health Finance Institute, Washington DC, and spearheading the $300 million African Medical Center of Excellence project in partnership with King’s College Hospital, London.
His career highlights include serving as Medical Director at JCI-accredited Lagoon Hospital in Nigeria, where he led significant hospital acquisitions and specialist program expansions. Tagbo’s diverse training includes an internship in Germany, project management studies at Johns Hopkins, and an MBA in International Healthcare Management from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He is an alumnus of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
Residing in Dallas, Texas, he is dedicated to advancing healthcare equity globally and enjoys traveling with his family.
Kwaku Agyemang-Manu is a Ghanaian politician. He is the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central and the Minister of Health. Kweku Agyemang-Manu is a Chartered Management Accountant and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana in 1989.
Agyemang-Manu served as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in the immediate-past Parliament and was the acting CEO of the National Health Authority in 2006, and also the deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning under former President J.A Kuffuour’s administration (2001 to 2008), he served in various ministries as a Deputy Minister of State in the following Ministries: Trade and Industry, Interior, Finance, Communications, and Roads and Transport.
He has served on the Boards of institutions such as the Small Arms Commission of Ghana, the Ghana Revenue Authority, Bank of Ghana, and the Divestiture Implementation Committee. President Nana Akufo-Addo named Kwaku Agyemang-Manu in May 2017, as part of nineteen ministers who would form his cabinet.
